Art for Seniors IN PERSON
Wednesday
May 20
9:30 am - Noon
Linda Flowers
"Sassy Teapots and Tea Bags"

For this class, Linda will demonstrate how to use tea bags, stencils, and gauze to add interesting touches to teapots. She will provide the gauze but please bring collage pieces to decorate your whimsical teapots.
Tea and nibbles will be provided to enjoy as we transform a blank sheet of paper into something unique and personal for your kitchen wall.

Linda Flowers began her artist journey in 2008 while living as an ex-pat in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While in Rio, she joined a local art group and so began her passion for art.
She has been a member of WAS-H for several years; and as a member, Linda regularly exhibits her art at the monthly gallery shows. She stepped into the role of Gallery Director from 2023 to 2024 and has also taken part in teaching the Wednesday Art for Seniors class.
Her favorite mediums are watercolor and acrylic. She loves creating abstract pieces because of the freedom and absence of constraints of realistic representation. Linda is known in the art circle for her “Imperfect/Perfect” women series. For this series, she sketches the women with her non-dominant hand and then paints the women with her dominant hand. You can see her art on Instagram at: artbylindaflowers.
When not painting, Linda enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and sailing.
Each Wednesday we host an art gathering for Seniors. This is a friendly and supportive group - all levels are welcome to join and there is no fee for this class however, online registration is required to participate.
Students bring their own supplies (paper, paints, brushes, paper towels, etc.) - only water-media please.
This weekly event is a community outreach to seniors 55+ only.
Safety Alert: Individuals attending this activity should be aware that they require the ability to safely descend stairs in an emergency.
