Are you intrigued by abstract art, but need some help getting started? In this class we will dig in with a variety of mixed media and some proven methods to build a painting that is a unique and colorful expression of your style. We will work on multiple compositions to start that all share a common color scheme, add original collage materials and mark making and finish with fabulous paintings. Whether you are diving deep in pure abstraction or wanting to put a non-objective spin on your landscapes or still life work, join us for a fun filled weekend.

Level: Beginner with experience, Intermediate, Advanced

Student Supply List

GESSOED Watercolor Paper (important for the process and collage – can even be gessoed over old paintings, use up that stack of rejects!!), matte medium, and any water based media (watercolor, acrylic, mixed media – crayons, water soluble pencils, stencils, mediums, collage papers if you have them - anything you fancy!), brushes and paper plates for palettes, brayers etc. We will bring supplies to share as well. If all you have is the gessoed paper and matte medium, we will get you to the finish line!!

Safety Alert: Individuals attending this activity should be aware that they require the ability to safely descend stairs in an emergency.
