Poured paintings are essentially value paintings, and what we sacrifice in control, we gain in beautiful mingled washes of color. Pouring paint is a fresh, luminous effect that is easy to achieve, but has a few steps to protect the highlighted areas before the fun of pouring begins. This technique works well for any subject, but particularly well for sunlit subjects, with shadows. The bonus of this technique is that it is a great way for painters who have limited time to work on their art – spending a few minutes a day can build up to a beautiful painting over a week’s time. We will work simultaneously on a painting together (to learn technique) and an individual painting that will be your choice.  Fun, messy, and a whole new way to paint!

All levels.
